Real Beauty...

Your self-confidence shouldn't be dependent on how attractive other people find you, but ... because I know I would have reacted the same way if I'd been part of this project, I'll get down off my high horse just long enough to say, "Ladies, we really need to stop being so hard on ourselves!" Chances are, you'll take a second look in the mirror after you watch this. Or maybe you'll just ditch your mirror altogether. Wouldn't that be nice?

So Much To Learn

Growing and maturing... Crap! In a world that produces more than enough food to feed everyone, 3.5 million children still die from hunger every year. And the blame goes to us. We should learn from them and share, too.

Faviken Magasine

If you are craving a Christmas meal with an authentic flavor, then book your reservation for Sweden’s Fäviken Magasine a restaurant set on 24,000 acres of pristine farmland where chef Magnus Nilsson creates his version of Scandinavian locavore cuisine using seasonal produce and sourcing ingredients locally. With Fäviken’s grounds covered in snow for six months out of the year, Nilsson relies on pickling, fermenting, curing and other old-fashioned preservation techniques through winter.
Check out one of the 50 greatest restaurants in the world, and one of the greatest chefs, too.

21 swings

Every spring, an interactive installation takes over a high-traffic area in Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles and sets a collective ritual. The installation offers a fresh look at the idea of cooperation, the notion that we can achieve more together than alone. The result is a giant instrument made of 21 musical swings; each swing in motion triggers different notes, all the swings together compose a piece, but some sounds only emerge from cooperation. A project that has been travelling in many locations, bringing people together to make music with their entire body.

16: Moments

This short film by will hoffman is a celebration of life, inspired by David Eagleman's book, Sum. The quick cuts and random images show how our minds visually remember memories. This video is a nice reminder that the most wonderful moments that make up our lives vary from really special times to the simpliest things. And every memory can be depicted in so many different frames of reference.  By radiolab.
